Staying Safe this Fourth of July

The 4th of July is a time to celebrate, but it’s also important to keep safety in mind. Here are some tips for enjoying a safe and fun holiday in Melbourne and Tampa.

Protect Yourself! Hydrate and Wear SPF!

Florida’s sun is strong. We are the Sunshine State for a reason! Apply and reapply sunscreen throughout the day and wear a hat or sunglasses to protect your face and eyes. It is also important to drink water to avoid dehydration!

Be Fireworks Safe

Fireworks are a popular part of any 4th of July celebration. They also happen to be legal in the state of Florida, therefore it is of the utmost importance to handle them with care. Follow all instructions and safety precautions when using fireworks, and most importantly keep them away from children, pets, and flammable materials.

Don’t Drink and Drive

We get it. The Fourth of July is a time for friends, family, BBQs, and letting loose. If you plan on drinking alcohol during your 4th of July celebrations, make sure to designate a sober driver or plan to use a ride-sharing service. Drinking and driving is never safe, and it is especially dangerous on a busy holiday like the 4th of July.
